KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO — Approximately 100 Child Development Workers (CDWs) from various municipalities in South Cotabato completed the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Services NC III, a significant initiative to strengthen early childhood care and education services in the province.

The training program is part of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s ongoing efforts to enhance the competencies of child development workers and improve the quality of services provided to young children in communities across the province.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia L. Bautista, RSW, emphasized the importance of continuous professional development among Child Development Workers, noting that they play a vital role in shaping the future of young learners.

“Our Child Development Workers are among the front liners in early childhood education. Through this training, we are equipping them with updated knowledge, practical skills, and competencies that will help them deliver quality care and responsive learning experiences for children,” Bautista said.

Participants were divided into four batches of 25. They completed a 28-day program that combined face-to-face and online learning sessions to further develop their knowledge, skills, and competencies in early childhood care, child development, and classroom management.

In addition to the training, participants underwent competency assessments to evaluate their readiness and proficiency in delivering ECCD services in their respective communities.

During the graduation ceremony, the dedication, commitment, and hard work of the graduates were recognized as they completed the program and expanded their ability to provide safe, nurturing, and meaningful learning environments for children.

Bautista further highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to supporting programs that promote the welfare and holistic development of children.

“The Provincial Government of South Cotabato remains committed to investing in capacity-building initiatives for our Child Development Workers because we recognize their significant contribution in building child-friendly and developmentally responsive communities,” she added.

The program also reflects the provincial government’s continuing support for professional growth and capacity-building initiatives among ECCD workers to ensure that every South Cotabateño child receives proper care, guidance, and early learning opportunities.

Upon completing the training, the graduates are expected to further strengthen efforts to promote child-friendly and developmentally responsive learning environments that will contribute to the healthy growth, development, and brighter future for every child in South Cotabato.
