Koronadal City, South Cotabato| August 26, 2025 – The Barangay Affairs Unit, under the Office of the Provincial Governor, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Reinforced Services Task Force (RST) People’s Organization, in line with the directive of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.
According to Dennis Dignadice, Barangay Affairs Chief of South Cotabato, one of the key priorities this year is to reorganize and fill vacancies within the RST Organization, particularly in the City of Koronadal, where several officers and members have resigned.
“The move is seen as vital in preparing the RST to operate independently before the year ends,” Dignadice said.
The Barangay Affairs Unit continues to serve as a vital link between the provincial government and grassroots communities, assisting barangays, puroks, and sitios in organizing programs and implementing development initiatives.
“We acknowledge that we have limited provincial resources, the office emphasized the importance of counterparting. We encourage barangays and organizations to collaborate in order to maximize support for local projects,” he emphasized.
A local initiative unique to South Cotabato, the RST Organization was created as the Reinforced Services Task Force to reinforce government service delivery and deepen civic participation in barangays, puroks, and sitios.
With renewed focus and strengthened support from the Barangay Affairs Unit, the RST is expected to enhance its role in community building and sustain long-term operations for the benefit of South Cotabato residents. Few years ago, RST organization was a nominee in the call for best volunteer group in the Philippines provincial level.
“The RST is a perfect example of a volunteer group that works hand in hand with the provincial government. It shows how organized citizens, when guided and supported, can help deliver services and bring the government closer to the communities,” Dignadice added.
