17 CSO Scholars set for South Cotabato CSO Academy Batch 3

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO), has identified 17 Civil Society Organization (CSO) scholars who will participate in the upcoming CSO Academy Batch 3 leadership program this year.

The scholars successfully passed the final screening conducted by the OPCDO and will represent various municipalities and organizations across the province.

According to Julius Ceasar Maniego, Cooperative Development Specialist I and designated CSO Desk Officer, the program has gained significant support from local institutions and stakeholders.

“For this year’s batch, 10 scholars are sponsored by the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of South Cotabato, while six scholars are funded by six component municipalities in the province. Another participant is supported by the Mahintana Foundation Inc., completing the 17-member cohort,” Maniego said.

Before the formal training begins, the scholars will take part in a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing on March 19, 2026, at Habi Hotel. The agreement will outline the responsibilities and commitments of the scholars and the program partners.

The official training is scheduled from March 23 to 27, 2026, in Lake Sebu. The activity will focus on developing self-leadership and strengthening the capacity of civil society leaders to effectively serve their communities.

Through the CSO Academy initiative, the provincial government continues to invest in leadership development among civil society organizations, equipping local leaders with the skills and values needed to actively participate in governance and community development.
