175 youth beneficiaries sign contracts for 2nd batch of SPES summer implementation

South Cotabato, Philippines —The Provincial Government has officially launched the 2nd Batch of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) Summer implementation after the contract signing of 175 student-beneficiaries who are set to take part in the program.

The beneficiaries, composed of deserving and qualified students from different municipalities, will be deployed to various Provincial Government offices and partner Local Government Units (LGUs). Through this initiative, they will undergo 20 days of meaningful employment, allowing them to gain practical work experience in a real government setting while earning financial support for their educational needs.

The duty period for the second batch is scheduled from May 18 to July 9, 2026, continuing the province’s commitment to provide opportunities for the youth during the summer break. The SPES program serves not only as a source of income but also as a platform for personal growth, discipline, and skills development among student participants.

Flora G. Montoya, PESU Manager, underscored the program’s long-term impact on the lives of young beneficiaries.

She highlighted that SPES goes beyond temporary employment, as it instills essential values that contribute to the holistic development of the youth:

“The SPES program continues to open doors for our youth by providing meaningful employment while reinforcing the value of education and hard work. Through this program, we empower students not only to earn, but to gain real-world experience that prepares them for a more productive and resilient future.”

Through SPES, students are exposed to actual workplace environments where they learn responsibility, teamwork, time management, and professionalism—qualities that are crucial as they prepare for future careers.

The program also strengthens the partnership between the government and the youth sector in building a more empowered and future-ready generation.

As the implementation of the second batch begins, the Provincial Government reaffirms its dedication to sustaining programs that invest in human capital, particularly the youth, who play a vital role in community development.

With continued support and opportunities like SPES, more students are given the chance to pursue their education while gaining valuable life and work experiences.
