240 beneficiaries to sign special program for employment of students’ contract

South Cotabato, Philippines —A total of 240 beneficiaries under the first batch of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) Summer Implementation 2026 are set to attend their Orientation and Contract Signing on April 9, 2026, at 7:30 AM at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court.

The activity marks the official start of their participation in the program. Selected students, out-of-school youth, and qualified beneficiaries will be briefed on program guidelines, responsibilities, and work assignments before formally entering into a contract.

According to Flora C. Gallego, PESU Officer, the SPES Program serves as a vital initiative aimed at supporting economically disadvantaged yet deserving individuals.

“SPES Program is a short-term employment program given to students, out-of-school youth, and beneficiaries of displaced or about-to-be displaced workers who are poor but deserving,” Gallego shared.

She further emphasized the program’s role in empowering beneficiaries beyond financial assistance.

“It provides opportunity for the beneficiaries to finish their education, gain and enhance their capabilities, and expose them to the real world of work,” she added.

Through this initiative, the Provincial Government continues its commitment to youth development and employment support, helping participants not only earn income during the summer but also build valuable skills and experience that will prepare them for future careers.

The SPES program remains one of the government’s key efforts in promoting inclusive growth by investing in the potential of the youth and marginalized sectors.
