At least 30 parents who are members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)coming from the Indigenous communities in the province will undergo life skills training next week to give them knowledge and skills on how to handle their children in the fight against illegal drugs.
The activity slated on December 5-6, 2019 will be spearheaded by the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) chaired by South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr.
Tamayo as the head of the PADAC said, the council will focus on demand reduction which is equally important as the supply reduction or anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA).
Aside from focusing on the drug-free workplace, PADAC will also focus on the strengthening of the family.
The activity is already the second in a series of training for the IP parents. The first phase conducted in October is the Systematic Training on Effective Parenting (STEP).
