328 residents from a remote village in Tantangan avail potable water supply

TANTANGAN, South Cotabato -a total of 328 residents of Sitio Barak, Brgy. Poblacion this town is set to avail of the safe and potable water supply from the provincial government of South Cotabato.

Earlier, the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) headed by Engr. Montasir Latif and Mr. Alfredo Galino conducted a survey and inspection for the project to fast track the implementation of the potable water supply.

“The water source is very strong and enough to supply the needs of the community.” Engr. Latif affirms during the survey.

Sitio Barak is composed of 72 households with 87 families and 328 individuals.

“We will endorse the result of our survey to Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. for him to prioritize and look for the source of fund for the said water system project.” – Latif said.

Sitio leader Datu Kutin Tanting expresses his gratitude to the provincial government of South Cotabato especially to Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. for the project to be implemented in the area.

He added their sitio has its own water supply, but the owner of the water source stopped the supply for personal reasons.

“We fetch our water to the nearest sitio a couple of kilometers away which is very hard for us. But now, we have to worry no more. ” Tanting disclosed.

Assisting the team during the inspection were Barangay Affairs Unit Community Organizers for Tantangan Adonis Sollano and Ricky Alfonga and Barangay Poblacion Kagawad Maliga Alay.
