A total of 47 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Centers have been successfully established in the province of South Cotabato. The provincial government allocated P66 million in funding for these centers, with each one costing P1.7 million. According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia L. Bautista, the ECCD program is crucial for children aged 3 to 4, as this is the stage where their imagination, creativity, and abilities begin to develop, making it essential to focus on their growth
Bautista further noted that day care workers are now receiving an honorarium, a significant improvement compared to previous administrations where they were only paid P300 per month. She clarified that accredited day care centers that meet the minimum standards will receive P2,000 for the first level, P2,500 for the second level, and P3,000 for the third level.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.’s administration aims to recognize and compensate the sacrifices made by day care workers in the province. As part of this effort, the honorarium for these workers has been increased to acknowledge their vital role in the community.
