PEMO exceeds 1st semester SGM Tax Collection

The Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) exceeded their target in their Sand, Gravel and Mining (SGM) Tax Collection from January to June this year when its SGM collection reached P6,757,759.13.

PEMO targets at least P12 million in collection for 2016 or an average of P 1 million a month, according to Nencita Acain, chief of PEMO’s Mines and Geo-Sciences Division.

The 6-month collection now average P 1,126,293.19 million a month.

With this, the provincial SG & M tax collection share for the first 6 months of this year now totaled P 2,724,239.13.

Said news is a positive development as PEMO is now finalizing the submission of documents of their entry “Minahang Bayan” to the Galing Pook Awards, a prestigious NGO award-giving body that recognizes LGU’s best practices in governance.

The Minahang Bayan is a program conceptualized by PEMO’s that seeks to address issues and concerns about Small-Scale Mining (SSM) in the province.

HealthPlus of the Integrated provincial Health Office is another entry of the province to this year’s Galing Pook Awards.
