KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — A total of 60 stall owners joined the Flea Market and Trade Expo as part of the South Cotabato Business Week 2026, showcasing a wide range of local products, food items, handicrafts, clothing, and other homegrown goods.
The activity, spearheaded by the South Cotabato Investment and Economic Promotion Center (SCIEPC), aims to provide opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to promote their products, expand their market reach, and increase income generation in the province.
Entrepreneurs from different municipalities across South Cotabato participated in the weeklong trade fair, highlighting the growing potential of local businesses. The expo also served as a venue for entrepreneurs to connect directly with consumers and introduce their products to a wider audience.
One participating exhibitor expressed gratitude to the provincial government for supporting small entrepreneurs through initiatives such as the trade expo.
“Dako gid ini nga bulig sa amon nga mga gagmay nga negosyante kay mas nakilala pa gid ang amon mga produkto kag mas nadugangan ang amon nga customers,” the exhibitor said.
According to Tyron Jann B. Villanueva, Head of the SCEEMO/SCIEPC, the flea market and trade expo provide small business owners with a platform to engage with consumers while encouraging entrepreneurship and economic activity in the province. He added that the initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to empowering MSMEs and promoting inclusive economic growth.
Furthermore, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., emphasized that Business Week serves not only as a celebration of entrepreneurship but also as a tribute to the significant contribution of businesses to the province’s growth and development.
Beyond the trade expo, the Business Week celebration also featured a series of activities such as job fairs and promotional campaigns designed to strengthen the local economy and encourage investment opportunities in South Cotabato.
