70 young learners in Upper Klinan, Polomolok to benefit from new Child Development Center

POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato — Up to 70 preschool-aged children from Barangay Upper Klinan and nearby sitios in this municipality will soon have access to quality early education as the Provincial Government of South Cotabato nears completion of a new Child Development Center in the area.

For parents in Upper Klinan who previously had to travel far or forego early schooling for their children, the new ₱1,694,475.41 Child Development Center brings hope closer to home.

The facility, now in its final stages of construction, is set to serve an estimated 50 to 70 children aged 3 to 4 years from Barangay Upper Klinan and adjacent communities.

For many families in this growing upland barangay, it will be the first accessible, safe, and child-friendly learning space within their community.

The center is designed to support the physical, social, and cognitive development of young learners, helping prepare them for kindergarten and formal schooling. Beyond academics, it aims to give children a strong start through play-based learning, nutrition monitoring, and community-based care.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. said the project reflects the province’s commitment to putting children first, especially those in far-flung areas.

“We continue to invest in our children because they are the foundation of our future,” Governor Tamayo said.

He added that by bringing child development services closer to communities, it ensures that every child, no matter where they live, is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Under his leadership, the provincial government has prioritized the establishment of learning facilities that support the holistic development of young learners.

With the project nearing completion, residents of Upper Klinan can soon expect improved access to early childhood education, reinforcing the province’s commitment to building stronger communities through inclusive and sustainable development.

Since 2019, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has emphasized the need to prioritize the province’s free education program through the establishment of classroom buildings and the provision of free education from preschool to college.
