KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH) Blood Bank assured the public of sufficient supply across all blood types.
Emy Santillan, Donor Recruitment Officer of the Provincial Blood Bank, said inventory remains stable in the first months of 2026 due to improved monitoring and donor mobilization.
“Hindi po nagkukulang ang anumang uri ng dugo sa ngayon,” she said.
She noted a temporary drop in donations in January but said supply recovered by early February through intensified blood drives.
“January is usually our lean month, but we acted quickly. By early February, na-maintain na natin ang supply,” she added.
The Blood Bank uses targeted donor sourcing by identifying barangays with specific blood types to maintain balanced inventory.
Santillan said South Cotabateños confined outside the province can still access blood through partner hospitals such as St. Elizabeth Hospital and General Santos Doctors’ Hospital.
“Hindi na kailangang umuwi para lang makakuha ng dugo. We ensure they are supported wherever they are,” she said.
The SCPH Blood Bank continues to ensure timely access to blood for patients across South Cotabato.
