KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Around 4,000 beneficiaries in various communities across South Cotabato are expected to receive rice assistance as the Provincial Government carries out its latest rice distribution program from September 29 to October 2, 2026.
Based on the distribution schedule prepared by the Office of the Provincial Governor–Barangay Affairs Unit (OPG-BAU) in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the assistance will cover beneficiaries from Tupi, Polomolok, Tampakan, Tantangan, Banga, Koronadal City, Norala, Sto. Niño, Surallah, T’boli, and Lake Sebu.
Barangay Affairs Chief Dennis C. Dignadice said the provincial government continues to ensure that assistance and development initiatives reach communities, particularly those in areas where support is needed.
“We make sure that the needs of our communities are addressed, especially those in areas where access to assistance can be more challenging. We continue to coordinate closely so that government reach the people,” Dignadice said.
The four-day distribution will be conducted at designated dropping points, including municipal and barangay gyms and other identified community venues.
On September 29, rice distribution is scheduled in Tupi and Polomolok, followed by Tampakan, Tantangan and Banga on September 30. Koronadal City is also included in the September 30 schedule, with distribution at Barangay Morales.
On October 1, beneficiaries in Norala, Sto. Niño and Surallah are scheduled to receive the assistance. The distribution will continue in T’boli and Lake Sebu on October 2, covering selected barangays including Talcon, Maan, Poblacion, Talisay and Ned.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries identified only as Inday from Tupi, expressed appreciation for the assistance, saying the rice would help ease their household’s daily expenses.
“Dako gid ini nga bulig sa pamilya namon. Sa panahon subong nga nagataas na ang mga baraklon, ang bugas nga amon nabaton makabulig gid para makamenos sa amon galastuson,” Inday said.
The latest distribution follows the provincial government’s continuing implementation of its Rice Distribution Program. In June, the province reported that its rice distribution program had aided to almost 48,000 individuals, while the second phase was subsequently planned to extend additional rice subsidies to beneficiaries.
Through the scheduled rollout, the OPG-BAU and the PGSC under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to coordinate with local communities and designated coordinators to facilitate the orderly distribution of rice assistance across the province.
