Banga, South Cotabato Philippines | November 15, 2025 — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is taking a decisive step toward strengthening community health systems as it formally unifies and organizes the Health Navigators of the Municipality of Banga. Leading this grassroots effort, Executive Assistant IV Dennis C. Dignadice of the Barangay Affairs Unit emphasized that a fully structured and coordinated Navigator federation is essential for faster communication and more responsive service delivery.
Dignadice personally met with Banga’s Navigator groups and confirmed that their Municipal Officers have now been officially federated—an important milestone in building a stronger foundation for local health governance. “
“Kinahanglan naton nga ma organized ang Navigators sa Municipal level, kinahanglan man nga mangin structured para mas madasig ang Communication naton sa ila kag mangin venue ina nga ma address ang Issues and Concern sa implementation sang Program naton sang provincial Health Navigators” Dignadice Stated
For many grassroots Navigators, this federation is not merely an administrative formality; it is an opportunity to hear. Members shared that through this initiative, they now feel more empowered to speak up about health concerns in their sitios and barangays. Some expressed hope that their involvement will finally bridge gaps in communication between communities and health offices, especially in far-flung areas where access to services remains a challenge.

This local initiative directly supports the directive of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., who established the Provincial Health Navigators as part of South Cotabato’s preparation for the full implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC). Governor Tamayo envisions a health system where every family receives the care, they need through coordinated, community-driven support.
The effort is being carried out in partnership with the Office of the Integrated Health Officer, ensuring that Navigators receive guidance, recognition, and a clear role in the province’s UHC roadmap.
As South Cotabato accelerates its UHC preparations, the strengthened federation in Banga stands as a hopeful reminder: lasting health solutions begin with organized communities, empowered leaders, and voices that are finally heard.
