BAU and PESU strengthen collaboration for cash-for-work opportunities to displaced workers in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Barangay Affairs Unit (BAU) and Public Employment Service Unit (PESU) strengthen their collaboration to expand cash-for-work opportunities for vulnerable and displaced workers in the grassroots level across South Cotabato.

The collaboration aims to assist residents affected by financial difficulties, economic challenges, and seasonal unemployment by providing short-term jobs under government-supported employment initiatives.

Barangay Affairs Chief Dennis Dignadice highlighted the importance of partnership to ensure more efficient delivery of employment service programs for displaced individuals.

“This partnership is part of the continuing efforts of the provincial government of South Cotabato to support displaced workers in the grassroots level across South Cotabato,” Dignadice said.

Under the initiative, beneficiaries may be deployed to community-based works projects such as environmental clean-up drives, barangay improvement activities, and other public service works in exchange for temporary wages and financial support.

As part of their proposed implementation, qualified applicants will render 20 days of community work.

Furthermore, Dignadice said that they are coordinating with the community organizers to maintain an orderly and efficient process before the rollout of the program in various municipalities across the province.

“We are working closely with the community organizers to ensure a smooth process and to help residents comply with the requirements needed for the program,” he added.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to support and strengthen livelihood and employment opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development and further empowering communities across South Cotabato.
