CITY OF KORONADAL — Giant piggery and poultry farm Biotech Farms, Inc., based in San Vicente, Bansa in South Cotabato has promised to buy 10 tons of waste paper during the forthcoming South Cotabeto Recyclable Waste Fair which will be held on November 18 at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center here,
Mark Jacortny Toyong, Biotech Project staff, made this commitment during the Kapihan sa Kapitolyo Mesia Forum sponsored by the Provincial Information Office on November 10.
Biotech’s commitment will be strengthened through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between said company and the province on said activity day. The company will buy the waste paper at P3.00 per kilogram
Their egg tray processing plant, according to Toyong, can generate more than 13,000 egg trays per ton.
“For the past years, 20% of our waste paper came from the province while 80% were supplied by consolidators region-wide,” Toyong confirmed.
SEMS Elbe Balucanag of PEMO and City ENRO Augustus Bretana, EnP likewise attended the said media forum.
The South Cotabatto Recyclers Association headed by Mamerto Licayan of Licayann Junkshop, this city, will be the partner during the waste fair in which recyclables such as oaper, bottles, scrap metals, among others, will be bought at a reasonable price by the junkshop.
