Koronadal City, South Cotabato | October 10, 2025 — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has ordered the suspension of classes and work in response to the earthquake felt across the province early Friday morning.
In a public advisory issued by Acting Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr., classes at all levels, both in public and private schools, are suspended to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.
Meanwhile, work at the Provincial Government of South Cotabato is also suspended to allow employees to go home and give time for engineers and concerned personnel to inspect the integrity of office buildings.
“Local Chief Executives are enjoined to declare work suspension under their jurisdictions,” the advisory read.
The temporary suspension aims to prioritize public safety while disaster response and engineering teams conduct inspections of school buildings and government offices across the province.
Residents are advised to stay alert for possible aftershocks and to wait for further announcements from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and their respective local government units.
