T’BOLI, SOUTH COTABATO — Residents of Sitio Lamkling, Barangay Talcon, T’boli, benefited from various government services through the Community Outreach Program of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, led by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., under the banner “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo para sa Katawhan.”
Organized by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (OPSWDO), the outreach activity is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to bring essential services closer to communities, particularly those in geographically isolated and underserved areas.
OPSWDO Officer Sonia L. Bautista emphasized the importance of bringing government assistance directly to communities, especially for residents who may face challenges accessing services at provincial or municipal centers.
“Through our Community Outreach Program, we want our people to feel that government services are within their reach. We continue to bring these services directly to communities because we believe that every resident, regardless of where they live, deserves access to the assistance and programs of the government,” Bautista said.
The program seeks to bridge the gap between the government and its constituents by delivering frontline services directly to communities, making basic social, health, agricultural, and veterinary services more accessible to residents.
During the outreach activity, mass feeding served 450 individuals, 91 residents availed of medical services, and 20 received dental services. Three individuals also benefited from circumcision services, and 118 residents received medicines.
Agricultural assistance was likewise extended to the community through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg). This included the distribution of vegetable seeds to 100 beneficiaries, 200 seedlings, and fertilizer and insecticides to 300 beneficiaries.
The veterinary component of the outreach program also provided livestock and domestic animals in the community. A total of 766 animals benefited from animal vitamins, while nine animals received anti-rabies vaccination. Animal deworming and antibiotic assistance were likewise provided to 766 animals.
The wide range of services provided during the activity demonstrates the provincial government’s integrated approach to community assistance, addressing not only the immediate health and social needs of residents but also concerns related to agriculture and animal health.
Bautista added that initiatives such as the Community Outreach Program are essential to ensuring that government programs reach the grassroots level.
“We recognize that some of our communities are far from government offices and service centers. That is why we continue to conduct outreach activities—to make our services more accessible and responsive to the actual needs of our people,” she said.
The Community Outreach Program is part of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s continuing commitment to inclusive governance and responsive public service. Through the initiative, government offices work together to provide a range of services in a single community-based activity, minimizing the need for residents in remote areas to travel far to avail themselves of government assistance.
Through programs anchored on “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo para sa Katawhan,” the Provincial Government of South Cotabato continues to strengthen its presence in far-flung communities and ensure that essential services and government support reach every corner of the province.
The initiative underscores the provincial government’s commitment to bringing government closer to the people, responding to community needs, and ensuring that no resident is left behind in accessing vital public services.
