South Cotabato, Philippines – The Office of the Provincial Cooperatives and Development Officer (OPCDO) successfully spearheaded the 3rd South Cotabato Cooperative Summit, a vibrant celebration that highlighted the strength, unity, and achievements of the cooperative sector across the province.
The event gathered cooperative members, leaders, and stakeholders from various municipalities to celebrate their vital role in driving local economic development and community empowerment.
In her message, Hon. Nilda B. Almencion, Board Member and Chairperson of the Committee on Cooperative, emphasized the essence of solidarity among cooperatives, saying,
“We are not just celebrating success, we are celebrating paghiusa or unity. We are reminded that when people come together with one purpose and one heart, no challenge is too great, and no dream is too far.”
The summit featured a series of activities and competitions that fostered camaraderie and showcased the creativity and dedication of cooperative members.
During the event, Ms. Nenita Kinan was awarded Female Best Dressed, while Mr. Cesar Tolentino received the title of Male Best Dressed, both embodying the elegance and spirit of the celebration.
The Municipality of Polomolok was recognized as the Largest Contingent, with a remarkable 191 participants, demonstrating the town’s strong and active cooperative movement.
n the Booth Display Competition, winners were announced as follows:
- Champion: 3rd District
- 1st Runner-Up: 1st District
- 2nd Runner-Up: 2nd District
For the Boodle Fight Table Presentation, the results were:
- Champion: Polomolok
- 1st Runner-Up: Surallah
- 2nd Runner-Up: Sto. Niño
Meanwhile, in the Variety Show Competition, the winners were:
- Champion: 2nd District
- 1st Runner-Up: 3rd District
- 2nd Runner-Up: 1st District
The 3rd Cooperative Summit stood as a testament to the active, united, and progressive participation of cooperatives in shaping a stronger and more inclusive South Cotabato.
