KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Gov. Reynaldo Sucayan Tamayo Jr. officially welcomed Atty. Suellen C. Ogena as the newest member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Koronadal City during an oath-taking ceremony held on Friday, March 13.
Governor Tamayo personally administered the oath of office, expressing confidence in Ogena’s ability to continue her family’s legacy of public service. He emphasized the importance of maintaining people-centered governance and making sure development initiatives respond to the community’s needs.

“Nawa’y kanyang maipagpatuloy ang mga adhikain at nasimulang paglilingkod ng kanyang ama, ang namayapang Mayor Bebot Ogena, na nag-iwan ng makabuluhang pamana ng tapat at maayos na pamumuno sa mga mamamayan ng Koronadal,” the governor said.
The daughter of the late Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena took the vacant council seat following a series of leadership changes in the city government.
The position became available after Vice Mayor Erlinda Araquil succeeded to the mayoralty, while City Councilor Ma. Ester M. Catorce stepped into the role of vice mayor.

Many see Ogena’s entry into the city council as both a continuation of her late father’s vision and a renewed dedication to strengthening local governance.
Her appointment is expected to support legislative priorities on social services, economic growth, and inclusive development for Koronadal’s residents.
Local officials and community members alike have expressed optimism that Ogena’s leadership will help sustain the city’s progress while honoring her father’s legacy of integrity and dedication.
