DepEd 12 commends the cooperation of provincial and city governments for SRAA meet 2025

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO- Department of Education (DepEd) Region 12 Regional Director Carlito D. Rocafort praised the collaboration between the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, led by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., and the City Government of Koronadal, headed by Mayor Eliordo Ogena, to ensure the success of the upcoming SOCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Meet 2025.

According to Director Rocafort, this marks the first time that two local government units are working together in organizing the regional athletic meet. He also expressed his gratitude for the full support of local officials in the region, emphasizing that their cooperation is crucial in achieving the goal of a successful event.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ogena assured that the athletes will have a smooth and safe experience throughout the competition. He added that the LGU Koronadal is committed to ensuring that the sports venues and facilities are in excellent condition, as well as providing security and safety for all delegates.

As of now, the delegation from Sarangani Province has already arrived on February 21 to begin utilizing some of the facilities for training purposes.

More than 7,000 delegates from various divisions across the SOCSKSARGEN region are expected to participate, including teams from Koronadal, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Cotabato Province, Kidapawan City, Tacurong City, and General Santos City.

The two host LGUs have also assured adequate accommodation, security, and transportation for the athletes, officials, and visitors.

The SRAA Meet is an annual event participated in by students from Region 12, aiming to promote sportsmanship, discipline, and unity among the youth while strengthening collaboration between schools and the government.

The SRAA Meet 2025 is set to take place from March 3 to 8 at the South Cotabato Sports Complex and other sports venues in the City of Koronadal.
