South Cotabato, Philippines – All national government agencies, employees, officials and elected officials are required to undergo a life style check. This was the response of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. at the Governor meets the Press today.
“It is about time that we undergo a lifestyle check, because as public officials, we should not be living that kind of lifestyle,” Gov. Tamayo said.
(Napapanahon na magkaroon ng lifestyle check kasi dapat tayong mga opisyal hindi dapat ganun ang tamang pamumuhay).
Governor Tamayo stressed that it is only right to conduct a check because the situation has become more serious.
He pointed out that it is no longer just about overpricing, which is already a grave issue, but also about ghost projects that have surfaced.
According to him, there were no real projects because it was election season, yet funds were withdrawn, allowing some to pocket as much as fifty million pesos.
“ It is truly shameful and unacceptable. With no projects to show for the money spent, I think the time has come to take action and thoroughly investigate these anomalies.

The governor said he is ready for a lifestyle check.
