Another Php 3.95 million worth of corn mill post harvest facility were received today by farmer -beneficiaries coming from 10 farmer associations, cooperatives and local government at the Provincial Training Center , Provincial and Demonstration Farm, Banga, South Cotabato.
The distribution of these post harvest facilities is the second in a series of turn-over ceremonies set by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturists in a bid to increase food security and self -sufficiency in the province.
The recipients for these facilities coming from five municipalities include the following; Blit Farmers Association, Lubo Renewable Energy Community Development and Upland Rural Farmers and and Integrated Development, Inc all from Brgy Ned in Lake Sebu; Unified Upland Developers Association, Laconon IPs Farmers Association and BLGU Lambuling in Tboli; BLGU Upper Sepaka in Surallah; Reinforce Services Task Force Lower Lambukay Resettlement Association and Provincial Nursery and Demonstration Farm in Banga; Landan People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Polomolok.
Yesterday, at least Php2.45 million worth of corn shellers were also distributed to the ten recipients.
Next week, the OPAG is set to distribute another ten (10) units village level rice mill worth Php595,000 each to recipients.
OPAG disclosed said facilities came from the 20 % Local Development Fund of the province.
The said turn-over ceremony was graced by Vice Governor Vicente De Jesus and Boardmember Henry Ladot, Chairperson, SP Committee on Agriculture.
