South Cotabato, Philippines — The Provincial Government continues to strengthen its commitment to accessible education as the financial assistance for regular scholars under the scholarship program has officially increased from a maximum of ₱37,000.00 to ₱45,000.00 per semester.
According to Atty. Rhonalyn C. Gallego, CAO/OIC-Executive Director of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship Grant-in-aid Program (KPSGIAP), the increase aims to provide greater support to scholars amid rising educational expenses and to allow more students to benefit from the program.
Gallego shared during the discussion regarding the program’s updated assistance package.
She clarified, however, that the release of financial assistance remains dependent on the scholar’s actual school expenses reflected in their Statement of Account (SOA).
Atty. Gallego further explained that the amount each beneficiary will receive will depend on the tuition and other school fees reflected in the Statement of Account (SOA) submitted by the scholar.
She added that if a scholar’s tuition and school fees do not reach the ₱45,000.00 ceiling, the remaining amount will be treated as savings for the Provincial Government, enabling the scholarship program to support more students in the future.
“If less than ₱45,000 ang tuition ng benepisyaryo, magiging savings ito ng provincial government. Gallego added.
The increase in educational assistance reflects the Provincial Government’s continuing efforts to expand opportunities for deserving students and ensure that more learners can pursue higher education with adequate financial support.
