NORALA, South Cotabato — The Norala District Hospital (NDH), under the administration of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and the Local Government Unit of Norala, is set to conduct a Free Surgical Mission on March 28, 2026, at the hospital grounds.
The medical outreach is being carried out in partnership with the Frank Jerome Philippines Foundation and aims to deliver specialized surgical services to indigent patients and residents who have limited financial capacity or access to essential medical procedures.
Dr. Mila Quinton, Chief of Hospital I of Norala District Hospital, underscored the importance of collaborative healthcare initiatives in reaching underserved sectors of the community.
“This surgical mission reflects our continuing commitment to bring essential and specialized healthcare services closer to our people. Through the strong support of our local government and partner organizations, we aim to ensure that no patient is left behind due to financial constraints,” Dr. Quinton said.
The initiative forms part of the local government’s continuing efforts to strengthen accessible, equitable, and people-centered healthcare services in the district.
“Among the procedures to be offered during the one-day mission are cleft lip repair for patients aged one year old and above, inguinal hernia repair for patients below 60 years old, and bilateral tubal ligation (BTL) for women of reproductive age who voluntarily choose permanent family planning,” Quinton said.
Hospital officials emphasized that all surgical interventions will be performed by qualified medical specialists, with patient safety as the top priority.
“All interested patients will be required to undergo proper screening and comprehensive medical evaluation prior to scheduling to determine eligibility and ensure readiness for surgery,” she emphasized.
Pre-operative laboratory tests and assessments will also be facilitated to guarantee safe and efficient case management.
Registration may be completed by personally visiting the NDH Public Health Unit for assessment and scheduling.
“Our priority remains the safety, dignity, and well-being of every individual we serve,” she added
Patients may also register online through the official link and QR code provided in the hospital’s public announcement.
Early registration is highly encouraged to allow ample time for evaluation, laboratory preparation, and coordination with the medical team.
NDH management added that through the collective efforts of medical professionals, partner institutions, and the local government, the activity is expected to help restore health, improve quality of life, and expand access to vital healthcare services within Norala and neighboring communities.
