Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo moves to fill school board vacancies to strengthen education support services

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines | MARCH 07,2026 – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., is set to fill several vacant positions under the Provincial School Board (PSB) to ensure that school operations and support services remain uninterrupted.

The vacancies include positions for Learning Support Aides, utility personnel, and security guards. These positions became available after several Provincial School Board -paid personnel were recently promoted to regular positions under the Department of Education (DepEd).

The replacements aim to maintain the continuity of school-related activities and services across the province.

According to Administrative Officer IV Cheryl F. Abantao of the Office of the Provincial Administrator, the recruitment process has already begun to identify qualified applicants who will take over the vacant posts.

“The orientation is conducted at the moment to fast track the filling up of vacancy. Qualified applicants will undergo an orientation at the Office of the Provincial Human Resource Management Officer, where they will also submit the necessary requirements for the application,” Abantao explained.

She added that the orientation will guide applicants through the hiring process and help ensure that those selected are prepared to perform their responsibilities effectively.

The move is part of the provincial government’s efforts to keep essential education support services functioning smoothly, especially in schools that rely on additional personnel for daily operations.

The initiative reflects the continuing commitment of Governor Tamayo to strengthen public service and improve access to government programs for the people of South Cotabato.

Provincial officials emphasized that filling these vacancies promptly will help prevent delays in school-related activities and ensure that learners and educators continue to receive the support they need.

Through programs like these, the provincial government continues to prioritize education while creating employment opportunities for qualified individuals in the community.
