Gov. Tamayo assures uninterrupted infrastructure projects amid global oil crisis

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. assured the public that infrastructure projects across the province remain on track despite the challenges posed by the ongoing global oil crisis.

Tamayo said the provincial government has implemented proactive measures to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices, which typically affect construction costs and project timelines.

He emphasized that careful planning and efficient resource management have allowed the province to sustain the implementation of key infrastructure programs.

We want to assure our people that our infrastructure projects will continue without disruption. Despite the global oil crisis, we have made the necessary adjustments to ensure that development initiatives are not delayed,” Tamayo said.

The governor noted that infrastructure development remains a top priority of his administration, particularly in improving road connectivity, access to basic services, and overall economic activity in the province.

Contingency strategies, including budget adjustments and strategic procurement, have been put in place to address fluctuations in fuel prices and construction materials,” he added.

Tamayo also highlighted that sustaining infrastructure development is crucial in maintaining economic momentum and delivering essential services to communities, especially in far-flung areas, citing that the provincial government is doing its best to balance the management of resources which may be attributed to the rising cost of fuel.

The provincial government reaffirmed its commitment to continue implementing projects efficiently, ensuring that public funds are maximized while delivering timely and quality infrastructure for the people of South Cotabato.

Recently, the Provincial Government, headed by the Office of the Provincial Engineer has been continuously conducting its regular monitoring on provincial projects to assure its on-time completion.
