Gov. Tamayo boosts ECCD with province-wide learning resource rollout

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has rolled out learning resources to strengthen early childhood development under the leadership of Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr.

The initiative, led by the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program of the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, aims to improve learning conditions in Child Development Centers (CDCs).

Funded by the Special Education Fund, the program covers 11 local government units and benefits 82 Child Development Workers.

A total of 580 kiddie chairs, 145 tables, and learning materials were distributed to selected CDCs to support classroom engagement and early learning.

Gov.Tamayo said early education is key to long-term development.

“Ang matibay na pundasyon ng edukasyon ay nagsisimula sa murang edad,” he said.

He added that supporting Child Development Workers strengthens learning outcomes.

“Kapag suportado ang ating mga guro, mas napapabuti ang edukasyon ng ating mga kabataan,” he said.

The ECCD program integrates health, nutrition, and early education services to support child development.
