Gov. Tamayo convenes provincial heads amid oil price hike

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — In response to rising fuel prices, Governor Reynaldo Sucayan Tamayo Jr. convened provincial department heads to strengthen preparedness and outline measures to reduce the impact on services and the public.

The meeting focused on ensuring uninterrupted government operations despite increasing oil costs.

In his statement, Tamayo highlighted the importance of unity and readiness in facing the situation.

“Muli tayong nagpatawag ng cabinet meeting upang pagtibayin ang mga hakbang at paghahanda ng ating Provincial Government sa patuloy na oil crisis na ating kinakaharap,” the governor said.

He stressed unity and planning in addressing the situation.

“Walang hamon na hindi natin kayang lampasan basta’t may pagkakaisa at maayos na paghahanda,” he added.

Tamayo said the province has set clear plans to lessen the effects of fuel price hikes, especially on frontline services.

“Tinitiyak natin na handa ang ating lalawigan — may malinaw na direksyon, konkretong plano, at tuloy-tuloy ang tama at maayos na serbisyo para sa bawat South Cotabateño,” he said.

Discussions included maintaining basic services, optimizing resources, and strengthening coordination among agencies.

The provincial government said it will continue to monitor oil price movements while ensuring responsive and continuous public service.
