KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO — Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. has limited the use of government convoys to reduce fuel consumption and promote discipline in public service.
The governor said convoys are unnecessary and that officials must lead by example in conserving fuel.
“Hindi na kailangan ang convoy. Dati meron ako, pero ngayon wala na. It’s been over a month—we should stop it,” he said.
He added that the province has cut fuel use by 65% to 75%, with officials traveling individually instead of in groups.
“We want to show that we are leading by example. Personally, nabawasan ko rin ang fuel consumption ko,” he said.
Despite the cuts, Tamayo assured that essential services such as healthcare, education, and food security remain unaffected. Officials said the move promotes efficient and accountable governance in South Cotabato.
