South Cotabato, Philippines – Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. ensures residents that most, if not all, provincial roads in South Cotabato will be concreted before the end of his term in 2028, reinforcing the provincial government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and accessibility across the province.
During his speech, the governor emphasized that road concreting remains one of the administration’s priority programs to ensure safer and more efficient transportation for communities, particularly in rural and far-flung areas.
“I already instructed the Office of the Provincial Engineer to fast track the development and construction of the provincial road networks within the two-years left of his administration,” the governor said.
The ongoing road development projects aim to strengthen connectivity between barangays, municipalities, and economic centers in South Cotabato.
“Improved road infrastructure is expected to benefit farmers, traders, and residents by making the transport of goods and services faster and more reliable,” Gov. Tamayo said.
The initiative is also seen as a key step toward boosting local economic activity and enhancing access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and government programs.
Governor Tamayo reiterated the provincial government’s goal of completing the concreting of provincial roads within the current administration, highlighting the importance of long-term infrastructure investments in sustaining development and improving the quality of life for South Cotabateños.
The Office of the Provincial Engineer is currently drafting plans on the development and concreting of provincial roads especially down to the sitios and puroks in the province.
The road improvement program forms part of the province’s broader development agenda aimed at building stronger communities and ensuring that progress reaches even the most remote areas of South Cotabato.
Since 2019 until today, more than 70% of the provincial road networks have already been concreted, connecting more barangays in the province.
