Gov. Tamayo intensifies local visit, taking governance to the ground

SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES | MARCH 04, 2026  – South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. personally met with employees of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato to explain his intensified field schedule, emphasizing that his reduced presence at the Capitol reflects a stronger push to bring government services directly to the barangays.

Addressing provincial staff, Governor Tamayo assured them that his busy calendar is anchored on one goal—delivering concrete results for the people, underscoring that every visit and inspection is aimed at strengthening programs on the ground.

The governor candidly asked for understanding from employees who may only see him at the Capitol occasionally in the coming weeks.

“Makaasa kayo, ang lahat ng ito ay para sa ating lalawigan,” Gov. Tamayo stated.

He shared that he may report to the office mainly on Mondays, while dedicating the rest of his time to visiting barangays, conducting on-site inspections, holding dialogues with residents, and monitoring priority projects.

To fast-track the delivery of target benefits, the Office of the Provincial Governor – Barangay Affairs Unit will accompany him during these field engagements.

Supporting the governor is Executive Assistant IV Dennis C. Dignadice, who will help identify pressing community needs and ensure that concerns raised at the barangay level are properly documented and acted upon.

“Direct community engagement allows him to personally assess local conditions and determine what additional assistance the provincial government can extend. With just over two years left in my term,” Governor Tamayo stressed.

He expressed determination to maximize his remaining time in office by focusing on grassroots implementation and responsive governance.

Despite spending more days in the field, the governor assured Capitol employees of his continued guidance and leadership.

He called on them to remain united, proactive, and committed to public service as the provincial government works together to uplift communities across South Cotabato.
