South Cotabato, Philippines | February 28, 2026- The Office of the Provincial Governor – South Cotabato has officially issued Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2026, calling on malls and business establishments across the province to actively support the celebration of National Women’s Month this March.
Signed last February 24, 2026, the order encourages local mall operators, commercial centers, retail stores, and service providers to offer special discounts, promotional packages, and women-centered activities from March 1 to March 31, 2026.

The initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Population Officer – South Cotabato and aligns with national policies recognizing the vital role of women in nation-building.
National Women’s Month is observed every March under Proclamation No. 227, which declares the month-long celebration in honor of Filipino women’s contributions to society. March 8 is also recognized as National Women’s Day under Republic Act No. 6949, consistent with global observance of women’s achievements.
The order further upholds the principles of Republic Act No. 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women, which mandates government agencies and local government units to advance women’s rights, welfare, and empowerment.
With the 2026 theme, “WE MAKE CHANGE WORK FOR WOMEN,” the province is pushing for stronger private sector participation. Businesses are encouraged to host product showcases, MSME bazaars, wellness services, and advocacy campaigns that highlight women entrepreneurs and promote gender-responsive economic opportunities.
While participation remains voluntary, the Provincial Government is optimistic that the business community will respond positively.
The South Cotabato Economic and Investment Promotions Center has been directed to coordinate with stakeholders to ensure widespread promotion and engagement.
Governor Tamayo emphasized that empowering women economically strengthens families, communities, and the province as a whole.
