KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — As he enters his final term as Governor of South Cotabato, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. remains steadfast in his commitment to serve the people with integrity, inclusivity, and unwavering dedication, emphasizing that public service remains the sole direction of his administration.
“I have nothing else to do now but deliver my commitment to the people,” Governor Tamayo said, underscoring his resolve to focus fully on service in the remaining years of his leadership.
According to the governor, his administration has only one guiding principle service to the people, nothing more, nothing less.
Since assuming office, Governor Tamayo has consistently pushed for programs and projects designed to uplift the lives of South Cotabateños across all sectors.
His administration has ensured that development is not concentrated in one area alone, but rather simultaneously implemented across the province, guaranteeing that no sector and no community is left behind.
At the core of the Tamayo administration is inclusive growth, anchored on strengthening key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, health, and education.
Recognizing that agriculture remains the backbone of the province, the provincial government has rolled out programs to support farmers and fisherfolk, including access to farm inputs, post-harvest facilities, livelihood assistance, and market support to improve productivity and income.
Infrastructure development has likewise been prioritized, with the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, drainage systems, and public facilities aimed at improving connectivity, boosting local economies, and ensuring safer and more accessible communities.
These projects have significantly enhanced mobility, particularly in far-flung barangays, allowing residents better access to basic services and economic opportunities.
In the health sector, Governor Tamayo’s administration has made notable strides by strengthening government-owned hospitals and health facilities. One of the flagship initiatives is the provision of free hospitalization services in provincial hospitals, easing the financial burden of medical expenses on families, especially those belonging to marginalized sectors. This initiative reflects the governor’s belief that access to quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
Education has also been a cornerstone of the provincial government’s agenda.
Under Governor Tamayo’s leadership, South Cotabato has sustained programs that support free education from elementary level up to college, including scholarships, educational assistance, and the improvement of school facilities.
These initiatives aim to ensure that every child and youth in the province is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed regardless of economic status.
Beyond these major sectors, the provincial government continues to implement social protection programs, services for senior citizens, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, as well as peace and order initiatives that promote stability and community resilience.
According to the governor, genuine development can only be achieved when governance is anchored on empathy, accountability, and direct service to the people.
Governor Tamayo emphasized that his final term is not about legacy-building for personal recognition, but about finishing strong by fulfilling promises made to the people of South Cotabato.
“This administration exists to serve. Every program, every project, and every policy is meant to improve the lives of our people,” he said.
As South Cotabato continues to move forward, the Tamayo administration assures the public that it will remain focused on responsive governance one that listens, acts, and delivers services that truly matter to the people it serves.
