KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Governor Reynaldo Sucayan Tamayo Jr. reaffirmed his commitment to delivering responsive, people-centered governance as he highlighted the accomplishments of his administration and outlined the province’s future priorities during his State of the Province Address (SOPA) on Monday, July 6.
Speaking before provincial officials, department heads, partner agencies, stakeholders, and representatives from various sectors, Tamayo emphasized that the trust and confidence of the people remain the driving force behind his administration’s commitment to providing what he described as “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo” for every South Cotabateño.
“Ang inyong tiwala ang ating inspirasyon upang mas pagbutihin pa ang ating Tama at Maayos na Serbisyo. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t may pamilyang nangangailangan ng serbisyo, may kabataang nangangarap, at may komunidad na dapat pang paunlarin,” Tamayo said.
Throughout his address, the governor presented the significant milestones achieved under his leadership across key sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, social services, disaster resilience, economic development, and good governance.
He also outlined the programs and initiatives that his administration will continue to implement during the remainder of his term to sustain the province’s development gains.
Governor Tamayo also emphasized that while infrastructure projects and development initiatives are important indicators of progress, the province’s greatest achievement lies in the unity and shared commitment of its people toward building a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous South Cotabato.
“Ang pinakamalaking tagumpay ng South Cotabato ay hindi nasusukat sa dami ng proyekto, kundi sa dami ng taong nagkakaisa para sa isang mas maganda at mas maunlad na kinabukasan,” he added.
The governor said every accomplishment achieved by the provincial government is rooted in the collective trust, cooperation, and support of the people of South Cotabato.
He underscored that his administration remains committed to ensuring that government services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of every community, particularly the marginalized and vulnerable sectors.
Tamayo expressed his gratitude to the people of South Cotabato for their continued confidence and overwhelming support, noting that their trust has inspired his administration to pursue innovative programs and strengthen public service delivery.
He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of local government units, national government agencies, private sector partners, civil society organizations, development partners, and provincial government employees, whose collective efforts have helped translate the province’s vision into tangible results.
The governor concluded his address by assuring South Cotabateños that his administration will remain steadfast in pursuing sustainable development, expanding opportunities, and improving the quality of life of every resident.
He reiterated that the Provincial Government would continue to strengthen programs that promote inclusive growth, social protection, quality healthcare, accessible education, agricultural development, and disaster resilience while fostering transparency, accountability, and participatory governance.
“As long as there are families in need, young people pursuing their dreams, and communities striving for progress, our commitment to serve will remain unwavering,” Tamayo said, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to building a stronger and more progressive South Cotabato for future generations.
