KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Following the successful conclusion of the 27th T’nalak Festival and the celebration of the 60th Founding Anniversary of the Province of South Cotabato, provincial officials are set to conduct a comprehensive post-evaluation to assess the overall implementation of the week-long festivities and identify areas for improvement ahead of future celebrations.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo emphasized that while this year’s celebration achieved many of its objectives, continuous improvement remains a priority for the provincial government.
“ Lahat naman ng aspeto ay may room for improvement. Pagkatapos ng Thanksgiving Mass, magkakaroon tayo ng post-evaluation ng lahat ng committees. Dito natin makikita ang mga posibleng naging kakulangan upang ito ay mapunan at mas mapabuti pa sa susunod na selebrasyon .” Governor Tamayo said.
The post-evaluation is expected to cover various aspects of the festival, including event management, logistics, traffic and transportation, security operations, crowd control, cultural presentations, tourism activities, sanitation, emergency response, and the delivery of public services throughout the celebration.
The T’nalak Festival, recognized as South Cotabato’s premier cultural celebration, showcases the province’s rich cultural heritage, particularly the traditions of the Indigenous Tboli people, from whom the festival derives its name.
The festival also highlights the colorful T’nalak cloth, a handwoven masterpiece that symbolizes unity, identity, and the diverse cultures of South Cotabato.
Throughout the week-long celebration, thousands of residents and visitors participated in cultural performances, civic activities, trade fairs, exhibitions, concerts, sports competitions, and various community events that highlighted the province’s achievements over the past six decades.
In addition, Governor Tamayo extended his appreciation to representatives from various national government agencies, provincial department heads, committee chairpersons, and partner institutions for their dedication and commitment during the celebration.
Special recognition was likewise given to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), whose personnel worked tirelessly to ensure public safety, maintain peace and order, and provide immediate emergency response whenever necessary.
Governor Tamayo, emphasized that the success of the T’nalak Festival was the result of strong teamwork among government agencies, volunteers, private partners, performers, and the people of South Cotabato.
