Koronadal City, South Cotabato – Marietta Cambas, a resident of Barangay San Roque, Koronadal City, expressed her profound gratitude after benefiting from the province’s free hospitalization program, which relieved her of a 200,000 peso hospital bill following her Caesarean section delivery.
Before the program’s introduction, Mrs. Cambas was hesitant to seek medical care due to financial constraints. She recalled the difficult decision-making process, uncertain about how she would manage the hospital expenses. With the launch of Governor Tamayo’s free hospitalization initiative, however, she no longer has to worry about such costs. All medical services she availed of during her stay at the hospital were completely free of charge.
“If I had delivered in a private hospital, the bill would have easily exceeded 200,000 pesos,” Mrs. Cambas explained. “That money could have gone toward my business, buying essential household items like rice, or even providing allowances for my children’s education. This program truly lifted a huge burden from our shoulders.”
Mrs. Cambas also praised the exceptional service she received at the Provincial Hospital, noting the efficient management and the high level of care provided by the hospital staff.
The free hospitalization program, implemented by Governor Tamayo, continues to make a significant impact on many families, alleviating financial stress and ensuring quality healthcare for all residents of South Cotabato.
