South Cotabato – Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. mandated the acceleration of road concreting and bridge projects in the province of South Cotabato with the aim of connecting barangays in the province.
Spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Engineer, the office continues to monitor and implement road and bridge projects in the province with the recent inspection of the ongoing construction of the Siop Bridge along Talahik-Upper Talahik-Crossing Modon Road in the Municipality of Surallah.
With a total cost of ₱29,988,832.08, the soon-to-be-completed bridge aims to facilitate the easy access in and out of the barangay and nearby communities.
According to Provincial Engineer Lloyd M. Esparagosa, Governor Tamayo wants barangays in the province to be inter-connected and to be easily accessible.
“Governor Tamayo wants roads in barangays connected as much as possible – making them easily accessible to basic public services.” – Engr. Esparagosa said in an interview.
Furthermore, Engineer Esparagosa also shared that the Provincial Government of South Cotabato allocates PHP30 Million for the construction of bridges along provincial roads in the province to boost connectivity and access to the community.
Meanwhile, Governor Tamayo reaffirmed the Government’s commitment in the development of infrastructure such as roads and bridges in the province before his term ends.
“In our Provincial Road network, our goal is to be able to have our provincial roads concreted – all 200 kilometers. And as of now, we only have 30% remaining to be concreted. – Governor Tamayo stated.
In his last term, Governor Tamayo pushes for continuous development in all sectors in the province – manifesting his flagship programs and delivering the “Tama at Maayos na Serbisyo” brand of public service.
