Governor Tamayo lauds South Cotabato athletes for winning 63 medals in Batang Pinoy 2025

South Cotabato, Philippines – South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. expressed immense pride and admiration for the province’s young athletes who showcased outstanding talent and sportsmanship in the recently concluded Batang Pinoy 2025 held in General Santos City.

“Indeed, South Cotabato Angat ka sa lahat,” declared Governor Tamayo as he commended the remarkable performance of the province’s delegation, which brought home a total of 63 medals a feat that once again placed South Cotabato among the most competitive provinces in the national youth sports arena.

The delegation’s impressive haul included 15 gold medals in individual sports and 20 gold medals in team sporting events.

Additionally, South Cotabato athletes earned 8 silver medals from individual sporting events and 10 silver medals from team events. Completing the tally were 4 bronze medals for individual categories and 6 bronze medals for team events.

Governor Tamayo emphasized that these achievements reflect not only the athletic excellence of South Cotabateños but also the province’s strong commitment to youth development.

He underscored those sports play a vital role in shaping discipline, teamwork, and perseverance values that are essential in building future leaders of the province.

“Behind every medal is a story of dedication, hard work, and determination,” the governor said.

“Our young athletes have proven that South Cotabato continues to produce individuals who can compete with pride and integrity on the national stage.”
