Koronadal City, South Cotabato – To strengthen his connection with residents and directly address their concerns, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo launched a city-wide initiative called “Barangayan” visiting each barangay in Koronadal City to listen to the voices of its people.
Dennis Dignadice, Barangay Affais Chief, said the barangayan was joined by former Congressman Ferdinand Hernandez and City Mayor Eliordo Ogena.
“Governor Tamayo began the initiative on January 11, 2025, visiting six barangays on the first day. The visits continued with six more barangays on January 13 and 15 barangays on January 14, highlighting the Governor’s dedication to reaching all corners of the city,” Dignadice said.
During these barangayan sessions, Governor Tamayo encouraged active involvement from residents, especially Provincial Family Health Navigators and members of the RST organization, urging them to voice their concerns, grievances, and requests.

“Their feedback is vital in creating solutions and improving the overall quality of life in their communities,” Dignadice stressed.
This direct approach gives Governor Tamayo, and his team firsthand insight into the challenges each barangay faces, helping ensure that government programs and resources are directed where they’re needed most.
“The Barangayan initiative is more than just a series of meetings; it reflects Governor Tamayo’s commitment to fostering open communication and building stronger relationships with his constituents. By engaging with them face-to-face and truly listening, the goal is to create a government that is more responsive, inclusive, and genuinely focused on meeting the needs of the people of South Cotabato,” he added.
