KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. showcased the province’s participatory governance model to 120 delegates from the LGU of Matalam during their learning visit held last March 18, 2026.
The visit highlighted the successful implementation of civil society organization (CSO) engagement and best practices that contribute to more effective and inclusive public service delivery.
Governor Tamayo shared the province’s journey toward sustained development, emphasizing key strategies and reforms that have driven its continued progress. His presentation served as both an inspiration and a practical guide for other local government units seeking to implement meaningful and people-centered programs.
“Sana ang pagpunta ninyo dito ay makasama namin kayo sa aming panawagan na dapat tayong lahat na mga local government units ay magkaisa para matiyak na ang proyekto at implementasyon ng pondo ng pamahalaan ay nasa tama at maayos,” the governor said.
The learning visit also opened opportunities for knowledge exchange, allowing participants to explore replicable initiatives that can be adapted in their respective communities.
According to Ainolene P. Suello, CSO designate of LGU Matalam, the delegation expressed gratitude for the province’s warm welcome and support.
“We are expecting that our Local People’s Council will gain valuable knowledge and be further strengthened in understanding their vital role in the economic development of the LGU,” Suello said.
She also conveyed their appreciation for the assistance extended by the provincial government.
“We are very honored to have been accommodated. Governor Tamayo did not hesitate to grant our request and provided excellent resource speakers. Thank you very much to South Cotabato,” she added.
Provincial officials expressed hope that the activity will further strengthen inter-LGU collaboration, promote good governance, and advance inclusive development across communities.
