Kabugwason Paglaum scholars shine in licensure examination

South Cotabato, Philippines — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato celebrates another milestone as two scholars of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship Program achieved top rankings in their respective professional licensure examinations.

Kassandra Obedoza, RTRP, placed Top 7 in the February 2026 Respiratory Therapist Licensure Examination, while Engr. Leody III D. Tajala, RME, RMP, secured Top 8 in the February 2026 Master Plumber Licensure Examination, bringing pride and honor to the province.

Obedoza shared that the scholarship played a vital role in helping her complete her education without financial pressure.

“Coming from a middle-income family, having a college scholarship helped ease the financial burden of tuition and other academic expenses,” Obedoza said, adding that the support allowed her to focus on her studies and eventually graduate with flying colors.

She also expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and the people of the province for supporting programs that help students achieve their dreams. Obedoza said she hopes to give back by serving people in need through her profession in healthcare.

Meanwhile, Engr. Tajala credited KPSP for helping him pursue his education despite financial challenges.

“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity given to me through this scholarship,” Engr. Tajala said. “If it were not for Kabugwason, I would not be a licensed Mechanical Engineer today.”

He added that his Top 8 finish in the Master Plumber Licensure Examination is a shared achievement with the Kabugwason community that supported his journey.

The accomplishments of Obedoza and Tajala highlight the continued impact of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship Program, a flagship initiative of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato aimed at empowering deserving students and producing future professionals for the province.
