Kadiwa ng Pangulo strengthens local farmers in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to boost inclusive economic growth and food accessibility through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, held every last Monday of the month at the Provincial Covered Court, Capitol Compound.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the initiative provides a direct market platform for local farmer-producers and processors, allowing them to sell goods without intermediaries while giving consumers access to fresh, affordable, and high-quality agricultural products and by-products.

The program is conducted in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), further supporting local livelihoods and enterprise development.

Among the beneficiaries is Vicky Dizon of LADIFA Cooperative, who shared that the program has significantly improved their sales and provided a steady market for their products.

“Dako gid ang nabulig sa amon sang Kadiwa, pati na po sa mga sales sa itlog kag sa gatas. Dako gid ini nabulig sa amon nga cooperative,” Dizon said.

She added that consumers benefit as well, noting, “Mas barato kami kaysa sa mga mall.”

The program is also backed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through Ordinance No. 57, series of 2025, which institutionalizes the Kadiwa ng Pangulo in the province.

Governor Tamayo emphasized that beyond increasing farmers’ income, the initiative also strengthens food security and improves community access to essential goods across South Cotabato.
