Lake Sebu, South Cotabato – The management of 7 falls Zipline in Lake Sebu is prioritizing the safety of tourists visiting South Cotabato Province. Ray Venn Dongo, Operation Manager, said a routine maintenance is conducted every 15th day or once a week to ensure that the facility is on and fully functional.
He added that every day, personnel also check the equipment as a standard operating procedure of the operation.
“Our zipline is really safe. The cable wire is size 5/8 and can carry loads of several tons. It has 16 strands and a double layer. If we look at it, the cable actually has two safety layers — if the outer layer gets damaged during operation, the inner layer serves as support. That’s why it really won’t break,” he shared.
(Yung Zipline natin safety po talaga yan. Ang cable wire natin nasa size 5-8, at kaya kahit tons ang e karga dyan kaya. Merong 16 strands at double layer. Kung titingnan natin may dalawang safety yung cable, kong ma damage yung outer layer during operation may support inner layer yan. Kaya di talaga yan ma puputol).
Dongon emphasized that tourist safety remains the top priority of the 7 Falls Zipline management.
He explained that ensuring safe operations is crucial not only to uphold the reputation of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, which supports the project, but also to prevent incidents that could jeopardize the livelihood of residents and landowners who depend on the attraction.
Currently, the development projects the area are ongoing with some projects being 100 percent completed based on data released by the 7-falls-Zipline management.
