Local fashion designers wow the crowd with their creations

Local fashion designers in South Cotabato wowed the crowd when sixteen (16) female and one (1) male models strutted the runway donning their creations in a fashion show event dubbed “Bugal Lokal,” which is one of the highlights of the National Arts Month celebration in South Cotabato held at the Mall of Ace Centerpoint, Koronadal City on Saturday afternoon (February 27).

                    wearable creations paraded were in black, red and white colors which symbolizes the three (3) colors of the t’nalak cloth, according to Jared Servano, Project Runway Philippines winner from Koronadal City and forerunner of said event.

                    The black group designers were Dante Mana (Durante Clothing), Razel Alimanggo (RAC Couture), Joel Mallo (Harakat Al Askilah), Vernon Jay Vegas (Fita Preta); white group designers were Mark Suralta Pabon (Marky), Kris Balao (KB Couture), Russel Barrientos (Not-not Barrientos Couture), Rey Dalupere (Blue), Nixon Jay Longno (Nix Couture), Junryl Villarmino (Jenny’s Creations), Jude Palmejar(Andre by Sofia); Red group designers were Ambrosio Cabayao (Ambrosio Couture), Charice Balderas (Cha Magic Touch), Archie Astillo (AC Couture), James Gellamucho (James Gellamucho Design and Creations). The designers were all members of the South Cotabato Fashion Designers Guild.     

  Meanwhile, weavers and beadmakers from COWHED based in Lake Sebu town and T’boli K’noon Cultural Village in the province provided the accessories for the wearables worn by the models during the fashion event.

                    They were Cristina Alberto, Nino de Castro, Emel Mendal, Rodelyn Pokot, Jayson Lucido, Erlinda Baay, Shirley Mindal, Robert Rey Molino, Jeffrey Dalupere, Joyline Manolong, Chona Atam, Dina Tuhtom, Marietta Carvajal, Jessica Malan, Analyn Tuhtom, Marina Sudaw and Elina Molina.

                    After the fashion event, the creations were open for sale to the public.
