Madrasah education gains more support in Polomolok

Polomolok, South Cotabato, Philippines| August 26, 2025 – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has strengthened its commitment to inclusive education by extending support to Muslim learners of Madrasatol Amni Al Islamie in Polomolok. Through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), learners received essential school supplies and participated in a feeding program that underscored the province’s holistic support to the Madrasah Education Program (MEP).

A total of 86 pupils, together with their parents, benefitted from the initiative, which provided nutritious hot meals and vital learning resources. This effort is part of the provincial government’s ongoing strategy to ensure that Muslim learners not only access quality education but also sustain their cultural and faith-based identity.

Mr. Cris Pingkunn Fuentes, Project Development Officer, underscored the importance of the initiative.

“This is our support to the Madrasah program of the province, especially to the students and the institutions. Eighty-six pupils were served, and both the children and teachers were very happy. Na-feel gid nila na inclusive ang governance ni Gov. para sa ila nga Muslim community,” he said.

South Cotabato continues to support Madrasah schools across the province, including the Maharlika Islamic Learning Center and Madrasatol Hidayatol Marangit in Polomolok. With the help of partners such as Mahintana Foundation, Inc. and the CATCH-UP program of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, these schools benefit from resource provision, teacher training, and classroom support aimed at uplifting the quality of Islamic education.

By nurturing diverse learners and strengthening community institutions, South Cotabato is building a future where every child’s education is valued, respected, and given room to thrive.
