KORONADAL CITY — Malacañang has reappointed South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. as Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Region 12 until 2028.
Governor Tamayo’s reappointment recognizes his effective leadership in maintaining peace, order, and security throughout the SOCCSKSARGEN region, as well as his ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration among local government units, law enforcement agencies, the military, and other sectors.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Governor Tamayo expressed his gratitude for the renewed trust and confidence given to him by the national government.
“We have once again been appointed as Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Region 12.
He said that, “it is both an honor and a great responsibility to be entrusted once more by our government.
“We will continue to strengthen our programs for peace, order, and security throughout the region, in partnership with our local governments, the police, the military, and other government agencies,” the governor stressed.
Joining Governor Tamayo in the RPOC 12 leadership are PBGen Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 12, who was designated as Vice Chairperson, and MGen Donald M. Gumiran, Commander of the 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, who was appointed as Co-Vice Chairperson.
First appointed as RPOC Chairperson in 2022, Governor Tamayo has since spearheaded numerous peace and development programs aligned with the national goal of ending local armed conflict and enhancing community security throughout the region.
“Our goal remains the same: a peaceful, progressive, and secure Region 12 for all,” Tamayo emphasized.
RPOC serves as the government’s primary coordinating body in the region on matters concerning peace and order.
It aims to promote unity and ensure prompt, coordinated responses among government agencies and stakeholders in addressing security and development issues.
With the renewed leadership of Governor Tamayo, PBGen Ardiente, and MGen Gumiran, Region 12 is expected to further strengthen peace, stability, and sustainable development in the years ahead.
