Koronadal City, South Cotabato – Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” N. Sotto commended South Cotabato Provincial Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. during the launching of the Provincial Freedom of Information (FOI) and Integrated Provincial Online Database (iPOD) on September 25, 2020, through a Zoom Session (online meeting).
The Webitaktakan sa Probinsya on Localizing the FOI was graced by Mayor Sotto, Governor Tamayo, and Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Kristian R. Ablan.
The said event was the final and grand culmination ceremony of the 4th Integrity and Open Government Partnership (OGP) Week Celebration organized by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) which was held from September 21-25, 2020 with the theme, “Integrity and Open Government as Drivers of Good Governance: Accelerating Government Services Towards the New Normal.”
“Pag may nakita po tayong mga champion ng good governance, FOI, at transparency… katulad po nina Governor Tamayo, sana suportahan at tulungan po natin sila,” Sotto said.
In the same way, Asec. Ablan also congratulated the Provincial Government of South Cotabato (PGSC)’s iPOD, saying that it is several steps better than FOI, because it consolidates all information and database of the provincial government into one website.
“There, a citizen can check information and data of the provincial government and the sanggunian; he/she can monitor infrastructure and other projects; and he/she can ask about mining information. I recommend you check it out.”
He also added that he hopes it can be replicated in the national level. The PPDO is headed by Ms. Jennifer C. Bretana.
