More certified childcare workers in South Cotabato with NC III training

Surallah, South Cotabato — To strengthen Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services, the TESDA Provincial Training Center in Surallah successfully conducted the National Certificate (NC) III Training on ECCD Services for Child Development Workers (CDWs).

This initiative was done in partnership with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, led by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., through the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO), headed by Ms. Sonia L. Bautista.

Governor Tamayo stressed that investing in the professional growth of Child Development Workers is essential for delivering quality early childhood education and care across the province.

“Strengthening ECCD services means strengthening the foundation of our children’s future. Our Child Development Workers are vital in shaping young minds, and it is our duty to equip them with the necessary skills and competencies,” he stated.

The NC III training aimed to improve the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of CDWs in providing high-quality ECCD services, especially in barangay-level child development centers.

The program covered key areas such as child growth and development, early learning facilitation, health and nutrition, child protection, and responsive caregiving, all aligned with national ECCD standards.

This capacity-building effort enabled participating CDWs to attain TESDA NC III certification, a nationally recognized credential that verifies their ability to deliver quality early childhood services. The certification is expected to elevate standards in child development centers across South Cotabato.

Meanwhile, PSWD Chief Bautista noted that the training supports the province’s long-term goal of ensuring holistic, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate care for every child.

“By professionalizing our Child Development Workers, we are strengthening our ECCD system and working toward better developmental outcomes for our children,” she explained.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato remains committed to programs that promote child welfare, education, and human capital development.

The successful TESDA NC III ECCD training demonstrates the province’s strong partnership with TESDA and its dedication to creating a child-friendly and future-ready South Cotabato.
