NDH brings preventive healthcare closer to Brgy. Tinago residents through Alagang YAKAP caravan

NORALA, South Cotabato — The Norala District Hospital (NDH) launched another leg of its Alagang NDH YAKAP & Health Caravan early this week in Barangay Tinago, bringing essential healthcare services directly to residents of the town.

Dr. Mila G. Quinton, chief of hospital of the Norala District Hospital, said the outreach reflects the hospital’s continuing commitment to delivering quality healthcare services beyond its walls and closer to the people.

“Bringing healthcare directly to communities allows more residents to access timely medical services while increasing awareness of healthy practices that help prevent illnesses,” Quinton said.

She added that the health caravan particularly benefits residents with limited access to healthcare facilities by reducing the need to travel for basic medical services and consultations.

The outreach provided free medical consultations, medicines, health education, health screenings, and compassionate healthcare services as part of the hospital’s commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible to every family.

A total of  152  YAKAP registered beneficiaries of Norala have  been catered and has benefited from the said event.

The caravan forms part of Alagang NDH, the hospital’s flagship community outreach program that regularly visits barangays across Norala to expand access to primary healthcare services.

Beyond medical assistance, the initiative strengthens the hospital’s Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign by promoting disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of early consultation.

Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare personnel conducted medical consultations, basic health assessments, patient counseling, and health education sessions during the activity.

The program also supports the implementation of the province’s YAKAP, or Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, by encouraging preventive healthcare and sustained community health monitoring.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Norala District Hospital, will continue rolling out the Alagang NDH YAKAP & Health Caravan in more barangays to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery and improve the overall health and well-being of South Cotabateños.
